Talk: We All Want to Change the World

Hugel 100

Organizations involved in the project

LEAP (Lafayette Environmental Awareness and Protection)

What steps did your organization take to complete the project?

LEAP’s Brownbag coordinator got in touch with David Radcliff, and worked with him to set up an evening talk at Lafayette. The various logistical points of getting the room secured and renting out a video camera were addressed as the event came closer to happening.

What challenges did you face, and how were they addressed?

The main challenge we faced the need to promote the talk, and spread publicity so it would be well attended. Over 10 professors were emailed, and several responded saying they told the students of the talk. Signs were put up all around the campus. A facebook event was made. Announcements were also put on through the school email.

What impact has the project had on your campus and the community?

About 28 Lafayette Students attended the talk. Most of them were not involved with LEAP. Students engaged with the discussion at many points, as David could bring the presentation in discussion at certain points. Awareness was also spread about environmental issues and LEAP.
